Societās Partnerships is pleased to offer one (1) free assessment to any university or college interested in receiving a confidential review of its international engagement performance.

Societās announces the name of the awarded university

February 2025: Preliminary Framework

Societās and awarded university present an assessment framework uniquely designed for the university. An agreement is signed where the parties state their roles and responsibilities.

Assessment is carried out

Societās works with the awarded university to carry out the evaluation.

Final Report, and Presentation

Societās will complete a final report and offer presentations to the institution.

Eligibility and Requirements

Any institution of higher education where its language of instruction is English or Spanish and that is recognized by its ministry of education can apply for this free assessment.

Who can apply?
Is submitting an application in English or Spanish required?

Yes. The assessor will rely on English or Spanish data to make evaluation and will communicate in any of these languages.

The form can be submitted only by the institution's rector, or senior international officer if the assessment is university-wide. In addition, it can be submitted by the head of a large department or faculty, if the assessment is for a unit.

When is the deadline?

Deadline to submit an application is November 30, 2004 at 11:59 pm (Panama local time).

How many free assessments are being offered?

Only one institution (or an institution unit) will be awarded this free assessment at this time.

What is the criteria for selecting the awarded university?
  • The university is highly committed to considering implementing the results of the assessment.

  • The university makes a direct link between the Assessment Framework and the stage of its internationalization goals.

  • The university has a strong capacity to carry out the Assessment's recommendations. This might include

    • financial and in-kind contributions towards its own international goals.

    • strong and direct leadership support during and after the examination takes place.

    • designating preferably an international senior officer or international director or creating a committee who will provide support during the examination period.

      • Such high ranking officer or committee will make available readable institutional data, understand the institution's major international initiatives, and be familiar with the major services, programs and initiatives that support international engagement.

  • The institution understands that transparency will be required in order to create a detailed assessment, which is based on their own institutional information.

  • The institution commits to considering doing a follow-up procedure that will determine how it will implement the Assessment recommendations.

  • The institution is capable of producing data as it relates to its international initiatives, programs and services. In case such data are not as readily available, it will make possible conducting interviews with internationalization and non-internationalization-related staff during the evaluation.

What are the expectations of Societās Partnerships?

Societās Partnerships shall provide a written report and presentation on the results of the assessment to the awarded institution.

Who is the owner of the final assessment and all of its supporting documentation?

At a mutually agreed timeline by the awarded university and Societās Partnerships.

When will the assessment be completed?

The awarded university will be the only owner.

Is an agreement required by Societās Partnerships and the awarded university?

Yes. Such accord will formalize the roles and responsibilities of the parties, as well as other legal language that clarifies the extent of the relationship during and after the assignment.
